Zhixing Nankai Postgraduate Social Study Program


1. Introduction

The Zhixing Nankai Postgraduate Social Study Program will be included in the Engaging Individuals in the Public and Contributing to the Nation Social Practices Summer Vocation Program jointly initiated by teachers and students at Nankai University. In addition, extracurricular scientific studies and social practices initiated by post-graduate students at school are specifically encouraged and supported.

In this program, postgraduate students are encouraged to form teams freely across disciplines, majors and years. Focused on interdisciplinary integration and interaction, study topics can be selected freely according to the theme. With the support of the Gongneng Scholarship, innovative studies and practices are initiated and a “problem solving-oriented and project-centered” postgraduate education and training model is explored, thus effectively improving the study and innovation capabilities of postgraduates.

2. Requirements for Applicants

 (1) Masters and PhD students at Nankai University.

 (2)Postgraduate students voluntarily form teams with 3-8 people on each team.

 (3)The team members must be enthusiastic about learning, study diligently, innovate independently and be willing to use their knowledge learned at the university to solve real-world problems, think, practice, and serve society, on the condition that they do not violate school rules, discipline and academic research ethics.

 (4)The team members should also arrange their schedules reasonably and complete the field investigation and report stages within their length of study.

3. Requirements

(1)The program is aimed at being time-sensitive, innovative, cooperative, engaged in scientific research, and serving society. It should also be applicable and feasible and put emphasis on putting forward innovative solutions and suggestions for real-world problems. Proposal of research programs that can be transformed into actual productive practices are particularly encouraged.

(2)In this program, the postgraduate students are encouraged to go deep into rural areas, communities, enterprises, universities and government agencies over summer vacation and during extracurricular time to conduct research on economic and social issues.

(3)The postgraduate students are also encouraged to apply their strengths to research and professional knowledge in order help research units solve real-world problems and serve economic and social development.
