I. Organization
Miaowu College of Nankai University, which is subordinate to School of Literature, is an innovative teaching institution with the aim of cultural heritage, cultural innovation and the training of new liberal arts talents. The College is named Miaowu for two reasons, one is to highlight the characteristics of the humanities and arts, and the other is to break the boundaries of different faculties for better communication and cultivation. With a scale of 100 people, the College deploys academic lectures, exchange seminars and innovative workshops as the main training methods, with the training session of one academic year.
II. Features
1. College Orientation
Open to all students in various majors of Nankai University, based on the integration education of traditional literature and history disciplines and innovative technologies.
2. Training objectives
The College intends to carry out lectures and exchanges around the themes of value interpretation of excellent traditional culture, as well as the cultural change and innovation dissemination in the new technological environment. The College also supports students to design their own research and practice projects, so as to explore the potential of students and improving their independent learning abilities. Through fostering students’ thinking habits, broad cognitive visions, good innovative practice abilities and tolerant cultural attitudes, the teacher-student community will be constructed with mutual trust, mutual assistance and common growth.
3. Training plan
It is proposed to set up thematic lectures, tea gathering exchanges, research visits, innovative workshops (a system based on projects with financial support for excellent programs).
4. Features of the event
Carry out researches and discussions based on the classics of traditional and modern humanities and arts; organize interdisciplinary and innovative programs and activities with students as the lead.
