[The 100th Anniversary of Nankai University] Academician Toshio Fukuda Invited at the “100-Year-Old Nankai’s Seminar”

December 25th, Prof. Toshio Fukuda, specially-recruited experts of “Thousand Talents Program”, foreign member of China Academy of Sciences, academician at Science University of Tokyo, and Chair of IEEE, was invited at the “100-Year-Old Nankai’s Seminar”, giving a report entitled “Multi-scale Robotic System” to Nankai University’s teachers and students.



Nankai University’s Vice President Prof. Jun Chen delivered the certificate of “Lecturer of the 100-Year-Old Nankai’s Seminar” to Prof. Toshio Fukuda. He extended his hope that Prof. Toshio Fukuda could come more and more to Nankai, delivering cutting-edge scientific research knowledge and share scientific thinking for teachers and students. In the report, Prof. Toshio Fukuda introduced the development of multi-scale robots, shared the 30-year development of concepts of multi-scale intelligence from individuals to groups, and explained arm robots and multi-functional motion robots, medical robots and simulators, and bionic systems.



Prof. Toshio Fukuda has made outstanding contribution in the areas of micro-nano robotics and bio-robotic system and is world-known as a pioneer in the field of Robotics, especially of bio-medical micro-nano manipulated robots. He has taken tens of important academic positions around the world. He won international academic awards, including 2014 Chinese Government Friendship Award and 2010 IEEE Technical Field Award on Robotics and Automation (which is the highest award in this field). He has published 11 books, more than 200 SCI papers, and has more than 4,000 SCI citations.
