“Yuhan Hu not only provided us with material aid, but also spiritual support. Her kindness and love greatly boosted our medical stuff’s confidence, courage and strength!” In the past few days, Nankai University has received a letter of thanks from Henan’s No.1 Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical College, which expressed profound gratitude for Yuhan Hu’s (2019 undergraduate of Zhou Enlai School of Government) kind donation of masks, protective clothing and other supplies.

The No.1 Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical College is a designated hospital for the treatment of patients with Covid-19 in Nanyang, so its consumption of medical protective supplies was huge and the hospital was also troubled with a deficiency of supplies. Yuhan Hu’s parents both worked on the front line of epidemic prevention and control, so Yuhan was concerned about the epidemic as well. Therefore, she decided to donate her New Year’s “red envelope” and contacted overseas friends to help purchase 50 pieces of protective clothing and a batch of surgical masks. In March, she specially went to the No.1 Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical College with her mother to deliver these supplies to the medical staff.

Fusheng Zhao, Chancellor of the No.1 Affiliated Hospital of Nanyang Medical College, expressed his gratitude for Yuhan Hu’s selfless donation. He said these masks are a symbol of love, and this lovingly presented “gift” is touching. Showing the spirit of college students in the new era, Yuhan Hu participated in epidemic prevention and control in her own way. Our appreciation to college students like her!

In addition to contributing to epidemic prevention and control in her hometown, Yuhan Hu also paid attention to the situation of Hubei. She donated to the Wuhan Charity Federation twice and collected funds with her friend to donate gloves, foot covers and other protective supplies for Yingshan People’s Hospital in Huanggang, Hubei. Moreover, as a student cadre of the university, Yuhan Hu also publicized scientific anti-epidemic knowledge on different online platforms, encouraging students to be confident and united in the battle against the epidemic.

Yuhan Hu said, “Although these supplies could only help a few, they bring my care to the medical staff. I am very proud that I could join in the battle against Covid-19 in this way and make contributions to the country and my hometown.”
