May 14, Clarivate Analytics released the ESI’s latest statistical data, and Nankai University’s General Social Science entered the top 1% of ESI for the first time. This is the 14th discipline that ranks in the top 1% of ESI, after Computer science and Materials Science were newly added to the list of ESI top 1‰ in March of this year.
Currently, Nankai University’s disciplines that entered 1% in ESI are: Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Environmental Science and Ecology, Biology and Biochemistry, Engineering, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Clinical Medicine, Mathematics, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Agricultural Sciences, Computer Science, Botany and Zoology, and General Social Science l. Among them, Chemistry and Materials Science entered the top 1 ‰ of ESI worldwide.
The data show that Nankai University ranked 357 in the world. It has 25,281 published articles, 532 highly cited papers, 18 hot papers, and each of which was cited 17.39 times on average.
ESI is one of the most important indicators commonly used today to evaluate the international academic level and influence of universities and research institutions. It ranks the total number of citations of articles published by institutions around the world over the past decade. Entering ESI means to enter the top 1% of global universities and research institutions in various fields of ESI, hence entering the top 1 ‰ is usually considered to have a world-class disciplinary strength.
The updated data covers the period from January 1, 2010 to the end of February, 2020.
