Due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, universities course-schedules has been interrupted in many countries. In April, the Department of Higher Education initiated the project of international platform construction (English version) to support universities online teaching. In the first batch, Xuetang X and iCourses established the international version. Organizing, recommending and building up English courses that can represent Chinese quality and world standard, these two platforms provides online the study for global college students and makes Chinese contribution to the world’s higher education against the pandemic.

Since the launch of the project, Nankai University actively responded and carefully made plans, organizing colleges and schools to translate the high-quality online courses into English. Till now, 12 online courses provided by College of Tourism and Service Management, Department of College English, Department of Computer Basics, School of Medicine and College of Environmental Science and Engineering have been uploaded on the platforms, playing a good leading role in demonstration.

In recent years, Nankai University continues to improve the construction of online courses and actively promotes the development of international education  through a series of measures, such as establishing special projects for teaching reform, teacher training, hardware construction and service improvement. By now, the university has 7 courses that have been approved as international high-quality online open courses and 50 established online open courses. More than 50 English professional courses are constantly established and more courses are in process of translation. The next step for the university is to continue to promote the reform of online course teaching, and to expand the teaching language from English to other languages.
