Recently, the Nature Publishing Group released the latest Nature Index. According to the index, it can be found that Nankai University has ranked higher on the list of academic influence, 9th in Chinese universities and 33rd in global universities, with its chemistry discipline ranking 6th in global universities.

The list of natural indexes released is based on weighted statistics of articles published in 82 top natural science journals in the world including Nature, Science and Cell, from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020.

The latest comprehensive list of natural indexes shows that a total of 19 Chinese institutions/universities are among the top 100 in the world. The 10 leading scientific research institutions/universities in China include the Chinese Academy of Sciences (1st), the Chinese University of Science and Technology (8th), Peking University (10th), Tsinghua University (11th), Nanjing University (14th), the Chinese Academy of Sciences University (16th), Zhejiang University (23rd), Fudan University (32nd), Sun Yat-sen University (37th), Nankai University (38th and 33rd in the universities globally).

Meanwhile, Nature Publishing Group released the natural index ranking of 4 disciplines including chemistry, physics, biological science and earth and environmental science. The chemistry discipline of Nankai University ranks the 9th in the world’s scientific research institutions (6th in the world’s universities). As it is shown in “Nature & Science” Index Ranking, Nankai University ranks the 9th comprehensively in Chinese universities.

In November 2014, Nature Publishing Group, UK, first released the global natural index. The index tracks the author unit information of tens of thousands of high-quality scientific research papers, covering more than 20,000 scientific research institutions around the world. Over the six years since its release, its reference value for evaluating the output of international high-level academic achievements by universities and scientific research institutions has gradually taken shape.
