To carry out the important instructions of the General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Prime Minister Li Keqiang, as well as to further implement the requirements of the National Conference on Graduate Education, Nankai University held a conference on graduate education on December 24^th, and prepared Plans on Improving Graduate Education Quality of Nankai University, hereinafter referred to as 30 Rules of Nankai.

Held in the small assembly hall of the main building at the Campus of Balitai, the conference was attended by the President of Nankai University and Dean of Graduate School Cao Xuetao, Vice Chancellor Yang Kexin, Li Yidan, Vice President Li Jing, Wang Lei, Chen Jun, Member of the standing committee Yu Hai, Liang Qi and President Assistant Zhang Bowei.

During the conference, Mr. Yang Kexin reiterated not only the important instructions of the General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Prime Minister Li Keqiang, but also the conference spirit of the National Conference on Graduate Education.

Mr. Cao Xuetao delivered a speech titled Carrying out the Spirit of the Conference on Graduate Education and Constantly Improving Graduate Education Quality. He comprehensively summarized the progress on graduate education made by Nankai University since 2019, sorted out the problems and challenges faced by the university in accordance with the National Conference, and highlighted the importance and moves of graduate education of the university during the 14^th Five-Year Period.

To carry out the principles of the conference and the documents of the Central Government and the Ministry of Education, the university has been preparing the Plans on Improving Graduate Education Quality of Nankai University, so as to comprehensively improve the graduate education quality of the university and to cultivate more high-level innovative talents for the country.

Related responsible personnel of the Graduate School made special reports and elaborated the plan (known as 30 Rules of Nankai), including 30 measures in 8 domains: Constructing a high-level working system of graduate ideological, political education and perfect the “Three-wide Education” system, strengthening the classification construction of degree spot, constantly optimizing the degree structure; optimizing the recruitment work in accordance with the high-level talent demand; deepening the system and mechanism reform and innovating training mode; strengthening the post management of the tutor and fulfilling the duties of the tutor; comprehensively strengthening strict management and improving the quality of education; strengthening the organization and the leadership, consummating the guarantee condition, etc.

The new plan raised on the conference tallied with the 14^th Five-year plan, conformed to the demands of the nation and kept up with the times. In terms of carrying out the spirit of the National Conference on Graduate Education, the keynote speech raised Nankai’s Goal and Nankai’s Plan based on its concrete condition, which greatly inspired the students and the teachers. Attendees also discussed the Plan and proposed their recommendations.

Mr. Cao Xuetao said, Nankai University has started its new century and opened a new stage for graduate education. All of us should bear in mind the care and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, earnestly endeavor to improve graduate education, make glorious achievements in graduate education in line with the benchmark, and make greater contributions to the construction of a modern powerful socialist country.
