A few days ago, Nankai University and Binhai New Area signed a framework agreement to deepen strategic cooperation. The two parties will further deepen their strategic partnership in terms of building innovation platforms, developing advanced subjects, introducing talents and great intelligence, converting scientific achievements into practice, promoting education and sharing alumni resources, as well as constructing university science parks, internet talents innovation and entrepreneurship alliances. The cooperation between the two parties is intended to enhance the scientific and technological innovation capabilities of both the university and the new area, thus promoting the construction of first-class universities and the new area, and better serving high-quality economic and social development.

Before signing the agreement, Lian Maojun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Tianjin Committee and Secretary of the CPC Binhai New Area Committee, met with Yang Qingshan, Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee, and his party. The two parties conducted in-depth exchanges on continuing to deepen strategic cooperation.

Yang Maorong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Tianjin Municipal Government, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Binhai New Area Committee, Secretary of the CPC Binhai New Area Governmental Committee and the district mayor, Xu Jingjun, Executive Vice President of Nankai University, Yang Kexin, Executive Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee, and Li Jing, Vice President of Nankai University, all attended the signing ceremony.

Liang Chunzao, deputy district mayor of Binhai New Area, and Xu Jingjun, on behalf of the two parties, signed the framework agreement for deepening strategic cooperation and the joint construction of the Binhai campus of Nankai University.

According to the agreement, the two parties will continue to promote the construction of the Reform and Innovation Demonstration Zone at Nankai University TEDA College and the College of Software, and the two parties will cooperate to build the International Joint Research Institute of Biomedicine and China's New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy Research Institute. On this foundation , Binhai New Area will deepen collaboration with Nankai University's Colleges of Chemistry, Life Sciences, Medicine, and Pharmacy to jointly cultivate innovative talents and build the Joint Research Institute into an off-campus experimental center and practice base of Nankai University.

Nankai University will actively promote the construction of the National Biomedicine International Innovation Park, enhance the innovation capability of the biomedical industry in Binhai New Area, and cooperate with relevant colleges in Binhai New Area to build high-level new research and development institutions. Meanwhile, relying on the advantages of both parties, Nankai will spare no effort to increase support for China's New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy Research Institute and to provide intellectual support for the high-quality development of Binhai New Area.

Binhai New Area will also work with Nankai University to optimize the mechanism of innovation, comprehensively promote cooperation between the two parties in production, education, research and application efforts, and gather more cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements in Binhai New Area. At the same time, alumni resources will be enthusiastically utilized so as to realize the conversion of new and old kinetic energy, and gradually cultivate new business formats.

Binhai New Area and Nankai University will jointly establish the Tianjin Internet Economy Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance as well as the Biomedicine and Fine Chemical Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance to promote the five-chain integration of innovation, talent, industry, technology and capital chains, and accelerate the formation of a group of high-level innovative and entrepreneurial talents to provide strong scientific and technological support for regional economic and social development.

Binhai New Area will also strengthen cooperation in the field of education and in the sharing of outstanding achievements with Nankai University, and promote the integrated construction of ideological and political education between universities and primary and secondary schools. The two sides will also work together to enhance the in-depth exploration of the outstanding alumni resources of Nankai University and create a new development model of local + university + alumni to realize a win-win situation and achieve common prosperity for all.
