On June 1, Yang Qingshan, Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee, led a team to the Shandong province to further deepen the cooperation between the two parties and held a discussion with Li Ganjie, Deputy Secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and Governor. Xu Jingjun, Executive Vice President, Liang Qi, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee and Yu Hai, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nankai University Committee accompanied Secretary Yang during the visit.

Yang Qingshan said that the Shandong province, with its large population, its booming economy, its rich culture, and its abundant education resources, plays a crucial role in the political, economic, and cultural structure of China, hence it has broad development prospects. For a long time, Nankai University has maintained close cooperation and exchanges with the government departments at all levels, the scientific research institutions, the enterprises and public institutions in Shandong province, and fruitful results have been achieved. At present, Nankai University is constantly expanding its school-running pattern, enhancing the cooperation between the university and localities, insisting on leading high-quality development with new ideas. It is hoped that enabled by the joint establishment of a joint research institution, the two parties can continue to deepen the cooperative relationship, helping Nankai University to become a world-class university while serving the high-quality development of Shandong's society and economy.
