On the morning of June 18, a special donation ceremony was held at the Oriental Art Building of Nankai University. Yin Nan, Yu Guozhen, Zhang Xiaoqing and Ma Na, from the Affiliated Hospital of Nankai University, donated their Covid-19 protective suits used for fighting Covid-19 in Hubei Province to Nankai University Museum and the suits will be collected permanently. 

In early 2020, Wuhan (Hubei) was facing an unprecedented situation and responding the national call, the Affiliated Hospital of Nankai University took immediate action and encouraged medical staff to offer medical support in Hubei. Ma Na, Yu Guozhen, Yin Nan then became part of the first medical team to support Hubei, while Zhang Xiaoqing joined the second. During those 52 restless days at the frontline, each one of them had successfully completed their medical care tasks.

President Cao said, the four heroes donating protective suits to Nankai University Museum is a great way to commemorate the great spirit of fighting Covid-19 and the spirit inspires all of us. President Cao hoped that all faculty and students could carry forward such spirit and dedicate themselves to the development of China.

President Cao also stressed the importance of heritage conservation. He asked young students to take firm hold of our cultural beliefs and patriotism. Finally, President Cao required that the majors related to cultural heritage and museology continue to innovate and make new contributions to the development of Nankai.

The event was hosted by the head of Nankai University Museum. Participants included the leadership team of the Affiliated Hospital of Nankai University, staff of Nankai University Museum and representatives of faculty and students from the School of Medicine of Nankai University.
