On September 24, the 30th anniversary of China's accession to APEC and the seminar on constructing an Asia-Pacific community with a shared future was held in Tianjin. The ceremony was jointly sponsored by the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation and the APEC Study Center of Nankai University. Experts and scholars gathered together to review the development of China over the past 30 years and propose China's position and role in APEC regarding the Asia-Pacific regional economic cooperation in the post-2020 era.
Huang Mengfu, Honorary Chair of the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation, Ma Zhaoxu, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Zhan Yongxin, Chair of the China National Committee for Pacific Economic Cooperation, Chen Jun, Vice President of Nankai University, Rebecca Maria, Executive Director of the APEC Secretariat, Mr. Eduardo, International secretary-general of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC), and other guests attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.
During the conference, the participants discussed various topics, including opportunities and challenges encountered in the development of the Asia-Pacific region, approaches to develop an Asia-Pacific community with a shared future and the Asia-Pacific community with a shared future and regional cooperation.
