“New Frontiers in Chemistry” Symposium Held at Nankai

On September 29, New Frontiers in Chemistrysymposium was held at Balitai Campus, Nankai University, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Chemistry discipline. The symposium was co-sponsored by the Journal of Chemical Sciences and the College of Chemistry, Nankai University. Chen Jun, Vice President of Nankai University, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. Distinguished scholars such as Academician Yang Xiurong, Academician Fan Chunhai and Academician Ma Dawei made keynote speeches in the symposium, while Jiao Ning and Song Guanqun, associate editors of the Journal of Chemical Sciences, also attended the symposium.

In his opening speech, Chen Jun introduced the development of the Chemistry discipline of Nankai University over the past 100 years. He hoped to take this opportunity to enhance academic exchanges and promote further development of chemistry at Nankai University.

After the opening ceremony, the experts gave academic reports in the frontiers of Chemistry and cross-disciplinary study, while 14 young academic leaders from the College of Chemistry engaging in different fields also made academic presentations.
