On the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of Nankai University and the centennial of the establishment of chemistry discipline of Nankai University, in order to boost the better and faster development of chemistry discipline of Nankai, Zhao Guofeng, Kan Ying and Zheng Baofu, alumni of the Department of Chemistry, jointly contributed RMB 160 million to initiate the Nankai University Chemistry Discipline Development Fund, which aims at supporting the introduction and training of talents in chemistry, scientific and technological innovation and development, cooperation and transformation of scientific research achievements and thus accelerate the construction process of first-class chemistry discipline.

On October 16, Cao Xuetao, president of Nankai University, Chen Jun, vice president of Nankai University, Zhou Qilin, academician from the College of Chemistry and three alumni jointly launched the Nankai University Chemistry Discipline Development Fund at the centennial of the establishment of chemistry discipline of Nankai University.
