On October 30, the Inauguration Ceremony of Chongdao Academy of Nankai University was held at the College of Chinese Language and Culture. Wang Xinsheng, vice president of Nankai University attended and delivered a speech. Heads of the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of International Affairs, the College of Tourism and Service Management, International Education College and the College of Chinese Language and Culture attended in person, and guests from co-sponsors including Tianjin Conservatory of Music and Tianjin Yaohua High School joined online.

The aim of Chongdao Academy is to provide students at home and abroad a homeland to jointly feel the Chinese culture, Chinese spirit and Chinese wisdom under the theoretical framework of building a community with a shared future for mankind. It helps students understand a wider-ranging, profound Chinese culture and national conditions so as to boost the promotion of international vision and cultivation of cross-cultural competency of Chinese students.

Wang Xinsheng, vice president, elaborated the significance of the educational mode of the Academy in light of the history of higher education at home and abroad and challenges and solutions of undergraduate education in the new era, and proposed ardent expectations for the construction of Chongdao Academy. He said that employing supervisors with multi-disciplinary backgrounds to guide students would be conducive to breaking the bulwark of the subjects and helping the educational reform, so as to form a better educational environment and achieve new breakthroughs in talent training.
