The Book "Public Health Law: Ethics, Governance and Regulation" Translated by the Scholars of Nankai University was Published

Recently, the Chinese edition of Public Health Law: Ethics, Governance and Regulation was published. The book was translated by professor Song Hualin from the School of Law of Nankai University, associate professor Li Qin from Hebei University, and Li Heng, an archivist of the Archives Center of Nankai University.

The original English version is written by three outstanding British scholars in the field of public health law. Based on the legal practice in public health in the U.K., the book systematically describes the legislation, public policies, judicial decisions, and public health practice for the contemporary public health. The content ranges from the law, regulation, governance and ethics, domestic health law and global health law, etc. It not only interprets the theory of public health law from the point of philosophy but also recalls the long history of legislation and regulation in the perspective of history. It not only discusses the administrative regulation, self-regulation and governance from the view of law and public policy, but also investigates the role of private law, public law, criminal law, and international law in the field of public health from a multidisciplinary perspective of law. What's more, it puts forward the direction for the future development and reform of public health law.

The book is of great significance referring to the systematization of the theoretical research of public health law and also to the response to the practical difficulties in the construction of public health law of China. It has been included in the list of "Top 10 Books on the Rule of Law" for the 2021 Legal Weekly.
