"Nankai University - Kanazawa University Exchange Day" Was Successfully Held

On March 12, "Nankai University-Kanazawa University Exchange Day" was successfully held online. Koetsu Yamazaki, President of Kanazawa University, and Wang Lei, Vice President of Nankai University, delivered congratulatory speeches via video. More than 80 faculty and students from the two universities attended four parallel sessions: science and engineering, medicine, history, and foreign language and literature.

Koetsu Yamazaki said in his speech that Nankai University is one of the most important partners of Kanazawa University, and the two universities have carried out close cooperation in many fields such as student exchange, joint training of graduate students and joint scientific research, etc. He hoped to take this exchange as an opportunity to further deepen the friendly and cooperative relations between the two universities.

Wang Lei introduced the international cooperation and exchanges of Nankai University in his speech. He said Nankai University is willing to further deepen cooperation and work closely with Kanazawa University in talent cultivation, research cooperation and international exchanges, so as to jointly make contributions to the development of higher education in China and Japan and the whole world in the post-pandemic era.

In the 4 parallel sessions, 12 scholars from the two universities in the field of physics, materials, history, medicine, foreign language and literature introduced their research fields respectively, and had in-depth exchanges on the topics of common interest. Both parties also had discussions on further strengthening academic research cooperation in relevant disciplines and building a platform for exchange between faculty and students.

Kanazawa University is a public and comprehensive university in Japan and it is well-known for research. Nankai University and Kanazawa University signed a student exchange agreement in 2009. Since 2016, a total of 10 students from Nankai University went to study there. In 2017, the two universities launched a joint postgraduate training program which 5 students from Nankai University have participated in. In addition, the two universities have jointly held a number of academic conferences in the fields of Japanese language and literature, history, etc.
