(Reporter Du Jingjing) Recently, the English monograph Engineering Technology and Clinical Transformation, Volume III of the Delivery Strategy and Engineering Technology in Cancer Immunotherapy, was officially published by Elsevier, an authoritative international publishing organization, and distributed globally (ISBN 978-0-323-90949-5). Professor Shi Kai from the College of Pharmacy, Nankai University was invited to participate in compiling the monograph.
Cancer immunotherapy involves the cross fusion of a number of disciplines such as oncology, immunology, pharmacy, biomedical engineering and clinical transformation, which has received widespread attention in recent years thanks to its ground-breaking progress and efficacy. To this end, Professor Mansoor M. Amiji of Northeastern University (NEU, US), an internationally acclaimed pharmacist and working as a chief editor this time, completed the compilation of this book together with 43 experts from the United States, France, the Netherlands, Italy and China. Characterized with authoritative and highly concise contents, this book collects cutting-edge engineering technologies related to tumor immunotherapy, including nano immunomodulators, biomaterials, engineered bacteria, CAR-T cells, tumor vaccines, individualized treatment and screening of biomarkers, whose publication is of great reference value to scientific researchers in related fields.
Given the achievements made in the field of nano immune regulation of tumor microenvironment, Professor Shi Kai, as the sole Chinese expert, was invited to write the chapter Interstitial Regulation Strategy to Improve Cancer Immunotherapy Response, which mainly sets forth the immunosuppressive effects mediated by the main interstitial components in the tumor microenvironment (like neovascularization, extracellular matrix, fibroblasts, etc.) in immune response links such as antigen presentation, T cell activation and tumor infiltration, and systematically summarizes the corresponding nano targeted regulation strategies and the latest research progress.
