Nankai University Won the "Grand Prize" of the 17th "Challenge Cup" Competition

In the lately concluded 17th "Challenge Cup" National Undergraduate Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition, Nankai University has won a grand prize, 3 first prizes and 2 third prizes as well as the "Excellent Organization Award". Meanwhile, Nankai ranked 6th nationwide in total points, which was the best among colleges and universities of Tianjin.

In the competition, Investigation and Optimization of China’s Business Environment — An Analysis Based on 4,000 Questionnaires of Yiwu Small Commodity Market in 4 Years guided by Sun Jingyu from the School of Economics won the grand prize. The research team focused on the optimization of business environment, took Yiwu small commodity market as the main investigation site from 2016 to 2019, and totally investigated over 4,000 enterprises. The study has produced specific policies to optimize China’s business environment and developed a micro database of business environment optimization.

Development and Application of Controllable, Efficient and Green Air Oxidation Coupling Reaction guided by teacher Xu Dazhen and Zhang Sitong from College of Chemistry, Innovate Mechanism of Online Medical Inquiries to Boost “Healthy China” Strategy—A Research and Application of Ali Health-Based Big Data guided by Zhang Xiaofei, Li Kai, Pan Qiyu from Business School, and Access to Green IOT— A Research on Ambient Backscattering Communication Enabled Symbiotic Network Performance guided by teacher Han Shiying from College of Electronic Information and Optical Engineering won first prizes. A Study on the Analytical Structure of Quark Propagator guided by teacher Chang Lei from School of Physics and Reform and Revitalization: Strategies for Consolidating the Effectiveness of Poverty Alleviation in Ethnic Minority Areas—Based on Field Investigation and Research of Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County in Sichuan Province guided by teacher Yao Wanjun from School of Economics won third prizes.

Since 1989, "Challenge Cup" National Undergraduate Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition has been held every two years, and is known as the "Olympic" event of technological innovation of contemporary college students. The competition this year has attracted over 2 million young markers from more than 2,000 colleges and universities in China.
