Recently, the Chinese Ministry of Education announced the list of national and provincial first-class undergraduate majors of 2021. Nankai University has added 14 national-level and 29 provincial-level first-class undergraduate majors.

Up to now, 56 NKU undergraduate majors have been included in the list of national first-class undergraduate majors, with new additions including Logic, Business Economics, Actuarial Science, International Politics, Social Work, Chinese Language International Education, Russian Language and Literature, Italian Language and Literature, Applied Psychology, Materials Chemistry, Electronic Information Science and Technology, Pharmaceutical Science, Financial Management, and Environmental Design.

The Chinese Ministry of Education initiated the first-class undergraduate majors in 2019, and plans to build about 10,000 national-level first-class undergraduate majors and 10,000 provincial-level first-class undergraduate majors in 2019-2021, aiming to comprehensively revitalize undergraduate education, improve the talent training ability of universities, and realize the connotative development of higher education.
