This semester's last lecture of Nankai University's general elective course "Frontiers and Challenges of Medicine" was delivered on June 2. Prof. Zhao Yimin, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering , gave a lecture with the topic of "Past, Present and Future of 3R-Stomatology". Cao Xuetao, President of Nankai University, hosted the course.

With a focus on "Replacement", "Reconstruction" and "Regeneration", three landmark keywords in the development of stomatology, supplemented by many cases, Zhao Yimin reviewed the previous stomatology practices with "replacement" as its core, introduced the present stomatology practices marked by "reconstruction", and looked forward to the future stomatology practices represented by "regeneration". He vividly outlined the development trajectory and future trend of stomatology.
Speaking of the future of stomatology, Zhao said that education, clinical practices and scientific research must be combined with basic medical research, engineering theory and technology, comprehensive clinical medicine, and clinical application. He believes that digital technology and regenerative medicine will be an irresistible trend in the development of stomatology, and will have a profound impact on the industry.
This class is the last lecture of the general elective course "Frontiers and Challenges of Medicine". Offered by the School of Medicine and with President Cao Xuetao as the course leader, the series of lectures focus on the global frontier trend of biomedicine and has been well received by the students.
