At the 2021 China Automation Congress (CAC 2021) held in Kunming, Yunnan Province, the team led by Professor Fang Yongchun from College of Artificial Intelligence of Nankai University, won the "China Automation and Artificial Intelligence Innovation Team Award"; Lu Biao won the Nomination Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation, and his advisor Prof. Fang Yongchun won the Nomination Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation.
Established in 1988, the Intelligent Robot Innovation Team of Nankai University, which won "China Automation and Artificial Intelligence Innovation Team Award", built China's first robot network open laboratories under the 863 Program, and won the second prize at the first National Technological Invention Award in the field of robotics in China.
Lu Biao’s doctoral dissertation, which won the "Nomination Award for Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation", was entitled "Research on and Application of Nonlinear Control Methods for Underactuated Electromechanical System". Underactuated system is widely favored by the industrial and robotics fields for its simple structure, low energy consumption and high flexibility. Under the tutelage of Prof. Fang Yongchun, the dissertation distilled and solved the common mathematical problems facing first-class underactuated system. On the premise of ensuring the stability of the system, it can help find a suitable approach to fully improve the transient performance and robustness of the system, promoting the development of relevant fields.
