The second lecture of the second season of "Frontiers and Challenges of Medicine", an general elective course of Nankai University, took place on October 10. Fan Daiming, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, gave a lecture on "integrated medicine" for undergraduates of Nankai University.

In the lecture, Fan Daiming extensively cited cases in life and clinical work and explain in a systematic and in-depth way the concept and significance of integrated medicine as well as its close relationship with the medical and health care. 

Fan Daiming said that integrated medicine is a certain and irreplaceable route for medicine as it adapts to the new medical trend, solves new medical problems, and meets people's new requirements for health. He pointed out that we should pay attention to how to stimulate the "natural force" of the human body in addition to depending on external intervention factors such as medicine and medical treatment when treating diseases. This is  important  for improvement in holistic integrated medicine.

Fan Daiming is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, a foreign fellow of the American National Academy of Medicine, and a foreign fellow of the French Academy of Medicine. He has served as the editor-in-chief for 158 monographs (volumes) and published over 700 SCI papers.
