On January 13, the “Online Launch and Promotion Conference for the Outstanding Entries of Tianjin Intellectual Property Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Invention and Design Competition”, hosted by the Organizing Committee of the Competition was held. “The Application of Intelligent Photosensitive Gel System to Precise Diagnosis and Treatment of Bacterial Infections”, an entry from a Nankai University team, won the first prize. In addition, three second prizes and one third prize were also awarded to Nankai University teams.
The project “Application of Intelligent Photosensitive Gel System to Precise Diagnosis and Treatment of Bacterial Infections” was completed by a team mainly composed of Wang Shuo, Bai Yueping, Qiao Yanqi and Fu Hongli under the guidance of Meng Meng, an associate professor at the College of Pharmacy. Among the core invention patents of the project, a smart photosensitive gel therapy for multidrug-resistant bacterial infection, based on the development of polymer materials and the design of small molecule drugs, was proposed to replace antibiotic. This therapy method has achieved breakthroughs in therapeutic effect, biosafety and efficient diagnosis, compared with existing antibiotic therapy.
The project “Efficient Synthesis and Application of Bifunctional Antimicrobial Drugs as well as an Efficient Method to Form Carbon-Sulfur Bond and its Application” by Li Ruopu, Xu Yize, et al. from the College of Chemistry, the project “Ultrafast Scanning Electron Microscope” by Fu Xuewen, Zhang Yaqing, et al., from the School of Physics, and the project “A Composite Material for Slow-Release Exosome and its Preparation Method and Application” by Wang Shufang, Liu Yufei, et al. from the College of Life Sciences won the second prizes. The project “A Multifunctional Vacuum Nucleic Acid Extraction Instrument” by Li Ling, Zhang Lianwen et al. from the College of Pharmacy won the third prize.
