NKU Team Wins First Place at “Ingenuity Cup” National Artificial Intelligence Innovation Application Competition

The first “Ingenuity Cup” National Artificial Intelligence Innovation Application Competition concluded recently. After several rounds of competition, the team jointly formed by the Computer Vision Laboratory of the College of Computer Science of Nankai University and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. won first place at the national finals of the first “Ingenuity Cup National Artificial Intelligence Innovation Application Competition and first place in the sustainability for AI track. The entry was ranked among the Top 50 High-value Application Solutions in China. 


The team, headed by Liu Jiaxuan, a master’s degree candidate admitted to the College of Computer Science in 2021 and guided by Professor Yang Jufeng of the College of Computer Science, consisted of outstanding master's and doctoral talents from the College of Computer Science, the School of Finance, the School of Medicine, etc. The team introduced the innovative solution of Skin Health Guardian - Large-scale Credible Comprehensive Auxiliary Diagnosis System for Skin Diseases Based on Mobile Terminal Images. Relying on Chinese software and hardware platforms, the solution leverages the interdisciplinary advantages to realize safe, reliable and credible auxiliary intelligent diagnosis of skin diseases based on mobile terminal images using artificial intelligence and computer vision technology. 


It is reported that the first “Ingenuity Cup” National Artificial Intelligence Innovation Application Competition was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government with the theme of “Empowering Intelligence”. The competition includes three tracks of technological innovation, empowering industry and sustainability for AI, as well as the national finals. The competition drew over 9,000 teams with over 16,300 participations from more than ten countries and regions.
