On July 24, the inauguration ceremony of the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Trusted Behavior Algorithms and Systems, hosted by Nankai University, took place in Tianjin. Chen Yulu, President of Nankai University and Wang Yaonan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, director of the National Engineering Research Center of RVC, and a professor at Hunan University, jointly unveiled the center’s plaque.

Chen Yulu said that in the new round of adjustment to discipline arrangement, Nankai University has capitalized on its advantages and characteristics to create four science clusters: creation of new materials, cognitive science, Chinese-style modernization strategy, and creative transformation and innovative development of fine Chinese traditional culture. Nankai University has formulated and implemented ten plans including “intensive and high-quality development of disciplines”, and made university-wide efforts to promote the development of artificial intelligence-centered cognitive disciplines. The inauguration of the Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Trusted Behavior Algorithms and Systems marks a new starting point for the university to further gather the school’s superior resources, and build the center into a domestically leading and world-class intelligent trusted behavior technology and system R&D base.

Chen Yulu presented letters of appointment to the director and members of the Center’s expert committee. Academician Wang Yaonan serves as the director of the Center’s expert committee, and Professor Han Jianda of Nankai University serves as the head of the center. After the inauguration ceremony, the participating expert members conducted in-depth discussions on the center’s work and research directions.

New-generation artificial intelligence technology has become a key driver for a new round of technological and industrial transformation. To this end, the “Ministry of Education Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Trusted Behavior Algorithms and Systems” approved by the Ministry of Education in September 2022 is established at Nankai University. In response to the needs of integrating new-generation artificial intelligence and physical equipment, the center focuses on “intelligent algorithms and techniques for trusted behavior”, and is devoted to solving major scientific and technological problems that impede the implementation of artificial intelligence algorithms on physical equipment.
