Recently, Sheng Bin, Vice President of Nankai University, welcomed a delegation led by Antoni Granollers, Vice President of University of Lleida, Spain, at the Balitai Campus. Heads from the College of Foreign Languages and the Office of International Affairs also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Sheng Bin briefed Antoni Granollers and his delegation on Nankai University’s history, recent developments, distinctive programs, and the development of the Spanish language program. He also reviewed the history of cooperation between the two universities. Sheng Bin expressed the hope that, building on the existing collaboration in Spanish and literature, the two universities could further broaden exchange channels for faculty and students and diversify the forms of cooperation.
Antoni Granollers expressed gratitude for Nankai University’s warm reception and provided an overview of University of Lleida’s general situation and key academic programs. He noted that the partnership between the two universities is built on a solid foundation and looked forward to further strengthening their friendship and expanding practical cooperation in more areas.
During their visit, the delegation also visited the College of Foreign Languages, where they held discussion and signed an academic exchange and cooperation agreement. Professor María Ángles Calero, a Spanish linguistics expert from University of Lleida, delivered a special academic lecture for students in Nankai’s Spanish program.
Founded in 1300, University of Lleida is a comprehensive public university located in Lleida, Catalonia, Spain. It has seven schools, with more than 8,900 undergraduate students and 2,750 graduate students, and over 1,200 faculty members. In December 2014, Nankai University established formal cooperative relations with University of Lleida and signed a student exchange agreement.
