A Delegation from Cheju Halla University Visits Nankai University

On June 25, Chen Jun, Vice President of Nankai University, welcomed a visiting delegation from Cheju Halla University, led by Shin Wui-Kyung, Vice President for International Affairs and Ko Seok-Yong, Vice President for Academic Affairs, on Balitai Campus.


During the meeting, Chen Jun reviewed the fruitful outcomes of the 16-year collaboration between the two universities, particularly in areas such as talent cultivation and the joint establishment of the Confucius Institute. He also shared the latest developments at Nankai University. Chen Jun expressed hope that, building on the existing partnership, both sides would further tap into their respective strengths to deepen cooperation, particularly in faculty exchange and joint training programs for students, while also continuing to support the Confucius Institute in its role of promoting Chinese language education and fostering cultural exchange between China and South Korea, so as to contribute to stronger bilateral ties.


Shin Wui-Kyung expressed her gratitude to Nankai University for its warm hospitality and conveyed greetings from President Kim Sung-Hun. She expressed hope that the two universities would further expand substantive cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Ko Seok-Yong introduced the Regional Innovation System & Education (RISE), a strategic initiative promoted by the South Korean government, and expressed a desire to collaborate with Nankai University on relevant projects under this framework.


During the visit, the delegation also held in-depth discussions with the College of Tourism and Service Management at Nankai University on joint undergraduate education programs.
