On June 22, Chen Jun, Vice President of Nankai University, welcomed a visiting delegation led by Mr. Robert Ainslie, Executive Secretary-General of the Laureate Science Alliance (LSA), on Balitai Campus.
Chen extended a warm welcome to Ainslie and his delegation, and introduced Nankai University’s history, academic strengths, and international cooperation and exchange. He noted that the university remains committed to high-level international collaboration, building extensive partnerships with numerous renowned universities and research institutes around the world through faculty and student exchanges, joint education programs, and collaborative research. He expressed hope that the visit would serve as an opportunity to deepen exchanges and implement concrete cooperation projects in talent cultivation, academic research, and the application of research outcomes, thereby opening a new chapter in collaboration between the two sides.
Ainslie noted that his first visit to China was in 1982 and has personally witnessed the country’s remarkable economic and social development over the past years. He remarked that cooperation and exchange can transcend national boundaries and provide lasting momentum for social progress and human well-being. He expressed hope that the visit would help facilitate substantive outcomes in academic exchange and research collaboration between NKU and LSA.
During the visit, the delegation also held in-depth discussions with experts and scholars from relevant schools and colleges at the university.
