Qilu Bank’s Chairman Visits Nankai University

On September 18, Zheng Zugang, Party Secretary and Chairman of Qilu Bank and an alumnus of Nankai University’s Department of Economics (Class of 1991), visited Nankai University with his delegation. Yang Qingshan, Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee, met with the delegation at Haibing Building on Balitai Campus. Liang Qi, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee, and Yu Hai, Assistant to the University President, also attended the meeting.

Yang warmly welcomed Zheng and his delegation and outlined Nankai University’s recent achievements in disciplinary development and talent cultivation. He noted the university’s vigorous growth and remarkable achievements in recent years and its leadership role in advancing sci-tech finance, one of China’s “Five Key Areas of Finance”. Yang expressed his hopes to further deepen cooperation with Qilu Bank, fully leverage the strengths of both sides, integrate talent cultivation and academic development with national strategies, thereby achieving complementary advantages and mutual benefits, and jointly injecting new momentum into building a strong education system and advancing high-quality financial development.

Zheng fondly recalled his student years at Nankai University and expressed gratitude for the education and support he received. He introduced Qilu Bank’s growth trajectory, noting that it was among the first city commercial banks in China and the first in Shandong Province to attract foreign strategic investment. He highlighted the fruitful collaboration between Qilu Bank and Nankai University in areas such as education, training and industry-academia integration, expressing his hope to broaden cooperation and enhance its effectiveness to jointly contribute to the Chinese modernization.

Later that day, Qilu Bank held a dedicated recruitment session at the School of Economics, attended by Niu Wenli, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee.
