Nankai University Hosts the 2025 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application — Embodied Artificial Intelligence Robot Forum

Recently, the 2025 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application  Embodied Artificial Intelligence Robot Forum was held on Jinnan Campus at Nankai University. Fang Yongchun, Vice President of Nankai University, attended the conference and delivered opening remarks. Professors Zhao Xin and Zhang Xuebo from the College of Artificial Intelligence at Nankai University served as conference co-chairs. Nearly 200 participants, including experts and scholars from the US, UK, France, Canada, Australia, Singapore, China, and other countries, as well as representitives of faculty and students, attended the forum.

On behalf of the university, Fang Yongchun extended a warm welcome to the attending experts. He noted that with breakthrough advances in generative AI, large models, and artificial general intelligence, embodied AI robotics has become a new wave in the field of artificial intelligence. He expressed hope that this international conference on industry-education-research-application cooperation would build a platform for international exchange and collaboration, effectively advance research in related fields, and promote deep integration of industry, education, research, and application.

During the conference, distinguished scholars from the University of Windsor, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Technology Sydney, Cardiff University, University of Technology of Compiègne, Nanyang Technological University, and City University of Hong Kong delivered eight outstanding keynote presentations, while Unitree Robotics showcased its latest humanoid robot technologies. In the discussion sessions, participants engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics including embodied human-robot interaction, embodied autonomous navigation, skill learning, and dexterous manipulation, sparking many valuable insights.

The conference aimed to address challenges in the development of embodied AI robotics technology by bringing together authoritative experts from academia and business community in the global robotics field to Tianjin to jointly explore solutions and promote continuous development and progress in this field. The conference was organized by the College of Artificial Intelligence at Nankai University, co-organized by the Tianjin Robot Industry Association and Unitree Robotics, and supported by the Center for School Development and Planning of the Ministry of Education and the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and the Tianjin Municipal People’s Government.
