
On November 17, Chen Jun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Executive Vice President of Nankai University, met with Félix Romero Revilla, Rector of Ricardo Palma University in Peru, and his delegation, on Balitai Campus.
Chen Jun extended a warm welcome to Félix Romero Revilla and his delegation, introducing NKU’s educational philosophy, disciplinary strengths and international cooperation initiatives. He highlighted the significant outcomes of the visit by a delegation from NKU’s School of Foreign Studies to Ricardo Palma University in June this year, during which a school-level cooperation agreement was signed. Chen emphasized NKU’s deep expertise and distinctive features in multilingual education, regional and country studies, and international Chinese language education, noting that exchanges and cooperation with Latin American institutions are actively expanding.
Félix Romero Revilla expressed Ricardo Palma University’s strong commitment to collaboration with Chinese universities. In 2010, the university jointly established a Confucius Institute with Hebei Normal University and began offering Chinese language courses. It is also among the first universities in South America to offer a Chinese-Spanish translation program. He expressed hope to expand practical cooperation with NKU in Spanish and Chinese language education as well as in Chinese-Spanish translation\.
During their visit, the delegation also held discussions and exchanges with faculty and students at the School of Foreign Studies.
