A Delegation from Inha University in Tashkent Visits Nankai University

On January 23, a delegation led by Jamshid Inoyatkhodjaev, First Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Inha University in Tashkent (IUT) paid a visit to Nankai University. Chen Jun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Executive Vice President of Nankai University, met with the delegation on Balitai Campus.

Chen Jun outlined Nankai University’s educational philosophy, academic structure, research strengths, and overall approach to international engagement. He noted that, in response to China’s major national strategies, the university has continued to strengthen interdisciplinary development and platform building in areas such as the digital economy, intelligent technologies, and industrial transformation to promote coordinated development in research innovation and talent cultivation. Guided by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Higher Education, IUT focuses on fields including telecommunications, business, and logistics, which align closely with the corresponding disciplines at Nankai University. Chen Jun expressed the hope that the visit would serve as a starting point for strengthening communication between the two sides and expanding practical cooperation under the framework of the China–Uzbekistan strategic partnership and the Belt and Road Initiative.

Jamshid Inoyatkhodjaev spoke highly of Nankai University’s achievements and academic influence in the digital economy and the information industry. He introduced the development of School of Computer Science and Information Engineering and School of Business and Logistics at IUT and stated that China and Uzbekistan already have a solid foundation for cooperation in sectors such as construction and energy. He expressed hope that the two universities would explore establishing an institutional partnership and broaden cooperation in faculty and student exchanges, research collaboration, and talent cultivation, further enriching and elevating bilateral cooperation.

Later that day, the delegation also held discussions with Nankai University's Business School, School of Economics, and College of Software. The two sides exchanged views on scholar visits, research cooperation, and joint/dual degree programs, and reached preliminary consensus.
