A Delegation from University of Science and Technology of Hanoi Visits Nankai University

On April 15, Sheng Bin, Vice President of Nankai University, met with a delegation led by Tran Dinh Phong, Vice President of University of Science and Technology of Hanoi, on Balitai Campus.

Sheng Bin extended a warm welcome to Tran Dinh Phong and his delegation and introduced Nankai University’s educational strengths, disciplinary structure, and international exchange and cooperation. He stated that, as To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of Vietnam, is paying a state visit to China, China-Vietnam relations are continuing to move forward, and the two sides are maintaining close exchanges on higher education, science, technology, and innovation, creating favorable conditions for deeper cooperation between universities of the two countries. Noting University of Science and Technology of Hanoi’s distinctive strengths in scientific and technological innovation and disciplinary development, Sheng Bin expressed hope that the visit would serve as an opportunity for the two universities to further strengthen communication and coordination, and actively explore practical pathways for cooperation in areas including scientific and technological innovation and student exchanges, contributing to educational cooperation and youth exchanges between China and Vietnam.

Tran Dinh Phong thanked Nankai University for its warm reception and introduced the general profile and disciplinary development of University of Science and Technology of Hanoi. He said the university attaches great importance to developing exchanges and cooperation with Nankai University. He noted that Nankai University has produced substantial achievements and accumulated rich experience in basic research, interdisciplinary integration, and international engagement, offering much to learn from. He expressed hope that the two sides would deepen research cooperation in key areas such as sustainable development, the environment and climate change, biotechnology, and health, while advancing faculty and student exchanges, joint student program, and collaborative research, so as to continuously enhance the level and effectiveness of bilateral cooperation.

Later that day, the delegation also visited Nankai University History Exhibition.
