On May 28, Yang Qingshan, Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee and Chair of the Nankai University Education Foundation, met with a delegation led by Bian Haiyan, Founder and Vice Chairwoman of Ningxia Yanbao Charity Foundation of Baofeng Group, on Balitai Campus. Niu Wenli, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Nankai University Committee, also attended the meeting.

Yang Qingshan warmly welcomed Bian Haiyan and her delegation, and expressed gratitude on behalf of the university for the generous donation from Ningxia Yanbao Charity Foundation. He briefed the guests on Nankai University’s history, academic profile and recent development. Yang noted that since its founding, Nankai University has upheld the educational philosophy of “knowing China and serving China”. The university has continued to promote close integration of disciplinary development and industrial needs, and cultivate high-caliber, outstanding innovative students capable of shouldering the mission of national rejuvenation. Yang said the Foundation’s support for education, including the establishment of the Yanbao Scholarship at Nankai University, fully reflects its broad vision, profound commitment to education and strong sense of social responsibility. He expressed hope that the two sides would further deepen cooperation in highly compatible fields such as new energy and new materials, to achieve mutual benefits.

Bian Haiyan introduced the development of Baofeng Group and the Foundation. She said that Nankai University, as a century-old prestigious institution, has a profound academic tradition and a rigorous learning environment. Baofeng Group’s core businesses in new energy and new materials are highly aligned with Nankai University’s disciplinary structure, creating broad prospects for cooperation. Bian expressed that she looked forward to stronger industry-university-research collaboration between the two sides, so as to jointly promote the deep integration and coordinated development of educational philanthropy and industry-university-research-driven scientific and technological innovation.

On that day, the inaugural Yanbao Scholarship presentation ceremony was also held on Balitai Campus.
