Academician Cheng Jinpei, an organic chemist, was born in Tianjin in June, 1948. He graduated from the Department of Chemistry of Tianjin Normal University in August, 1975. From September, 1978 to December, 1981, he studied in College of Chemistry, Nankai University and finally completed his master’s degree. Then he obtained the doctor’s degree from Northwestern University, US in February, 1987. From March, 1987 to September, 1988, he had been doing postdoctoral research in Duke University, US.

Academician Ma Zhiming, a Mathematician and a researcher of Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), was born in Chengdu, Sichuan province in January, 1948 while the Jiaocheng County in Shanxi Province was his native place of ancestral origin. He graduated from Chongqing Normal University in 1978 and completed his doctor’s degree in Institute of Applied Mathematics, CAS in 1984.

Academician Song Licheng was an organic chemist, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor of Nankai University and Doctoral Supervisor. In 1957, he went to study in the College of Chemistry, Nankai University. After his graduation in 1962, he worked in Nankai University as an Assistant. Then he became an Associate Professor in 1986 and was promoted to Professor in 1988. And he has been the Doctoral Supervisor since 1990.
Professor Yeh Chia-yingwas born in 1924. After graduating from Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Fu Jen Catholic University in 1945, she has been working at National Taiwan University for 15 years since 1954, during which she worked as a full-time Professor at National Taiwan University and Adjunct Professor of Tamkang University, Fu Jen Catholic University. In 1969, she moved to Vancouver, Canada, serving as Tenured Professor of the University of British Columbia.
Yan Chunhua serves as an academician and is an inorganic chemist. He was born in Shanghai in January,1961, while Rugao in Jiangsu Province was his native place of ancestral origin. He graduated from College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of Peking University in July, 1982, where he received the degree of master and doctor in July, 1985 and January, 1988.
